Born 1872 in Källs-Nöbbelöv (M).
In the census of the population in 1890 he is recorded as absent since he worked at the Kronobergs Mine. This might be the mines in the Kleva and Ädelsfors area, which according to Swedish Språk och Folkminnesinstitutets register were called "Kronoberget gruvor". The name derives its origin from the time when the Swedish Government ("Kronan") was the owner.
